Awards season is rolling along, and Sunday evening marked the event most known for filling the red carpet with wild, wacky, anything-but-boring style and beauty looks: the Grammys. For the ceremony's 61st anniversary, musicians and music-adjacent celebrities showed up wearing boundary-pushing designs, brights and metallics — and some major beauty looks.

Bold colors were one of the standout makeup trends of the evening, with several stars reaching for vibrant lipstick: Jameela Jamil (above) matched hers to her coral gown, while St. Vincent went for a classic crimson that looked especially striking against her fair skin tone. At the opposite end of the spectrum was the show's host, Alicia Keys, who appeared to continue her makeupless streak, instead making an impact with a hairstyle that was sleek in the front and voluminous in the back.

Another hair standout was Lilly Singh, who got in on the accessories trend by stacking several metallic bobby pins on one half of a deep side part. But ponytails were easily the most popular and winning hair choice of the evening, with Eve's half-up style, Camila Cabello's wavy, low-slung version and J. Lo's dramatic hip-length one being highlights.

All in all, these hair and makeup looks were fun, experimental and, like we said before, anything but boring. Click through the gallery below to see our favorites from the evening.
