13-Year-Old Blind Dog Who's Looking for His Forever Home Is Breaking Hearts
Senior dogs are so special and make the most wonderful pets. These dogs are usually potty-trained, are well beyond destructive puppy behaviors like chewing everything in sight, and make wonderful TV watching companions.
The TikTok account for @Youngatheartpets recently uploaded a video of a beautiful blind dog they have available for adoption named Elmer and he's just the sweetest thing ever.

It's so important to give senior dogs homes because they are so often overlooked due to people wanting to adopt younger dogs or puppies instead.
The rescue posted the following sweet description on the video, "My name is Elmer. I’m a sweet 13-year-old Maltese mix who was found as a stray, and no one ever came looking for me. So now I am here at Young at Heart to get all the love and care I need while I wait for my forever home. I'm a little guy at about 8 pounds. As the sweet and docile guy that I am, I tend to spend most of my time relaxing on my bed or couch, and enjoying affection from my human friends. I am blind, but get around well with a halo to ensure I don't bump into things, and I also get eye meds daily. I would do best in a quiet home, as a lot of noise or hustle & bustle can overwhelm me. I do well with other calm dogs, and would probably do just fine with cats. I love massages and being loved on, doing treat puzzles and finding treats in snuffle mats, and getting lots and lots of love! My nose and my ears work great, so I love playing games that involve both, and I loooove for you to tell me stories, sing to me, and just talk to me. I also LOVE rides in the doggy stroller around the neighborhood. I'm such a sweet guy, I hope there is someone out there that wants to snuggle and spoil me in my golden years. Is that you?"
People can't get enough of this sweet senior dog and @Helen comments, "Praying you get the most wonderful loving forever home Elmer." @Sindia adds, "Wearing a halo cause he's an angel." @Marie replies, "I just love old sweet dogs."
