12 Times Celebs Made Anti-Gay Or Anti-Trans Comments In The Last Year
It's Pride Month, which is amazing. However, in the past year, there's been unprecedented discrimination and prejudice against LGBTQ folk and an alarming amount of anti-LGBTQ legislation.
It's also surprisingly been a year of moving backward when it comes to celebs supporting the LGTBQ community, so it's important to realize that homophobia and transphobia are still sadly alive.
Here are 13 times celebs were homophobic or transphobic in the past year:
1.Too Hot to Handle star Harry Jowsey called James Charles the f-slur on the Tap In podcast:
In the episode he said to the podcast host, "James Charles is trying to fuck me. You don't know who he is? He's just some faggot." He later apologized.
2.DaBaby described people living with HIV as "nasty" and "junkies":

3.And then Dave Chappelle joked about the situation in his Netflix special The Closer.
He said DaBaby "punched the LGBTQ community right in the AIDS." He also said he thought the word "feminists" meant "frumpy d*kes."

5.Boosie BadAzz went on a wild anti-gay Twitter rant about Lil Nas X:
In his Instagram Live, Lil Nas X joked about having a collab with Boosie, which caused him to go on the above rant.
Boosie didn't apologize, but Lil Nas X did address the rant with joke tweet:
i am truly saddened. i have never been so mortified in my life. i can’t believe disney channel has yet to play halloween town this entire october.
6.Ricky Gervais was called out for the anti-trans jokes in his Netflix special Supernature:
“Full disclosure: In real life, of course, I support trans rights," he says. "I support all human rights, and trans rights are human rights. Live your best life. Use your preferred pronouns. Be the gender that you feel that you are. But meet me halfway, ladies: Lose the cock. That’s all I’m saying.” He also said trans women are not women because they don't have wombs.
7.And he did a weird bit about how "amazing" AIDS is and how God sent it to Africa because "they're dying anyway":

9.Kendrick Lamar's song "Auntie Diaries" garnered controversy after Kendrick — who identifies as straight — said the f-slur multiple times:
Kendrick did not address the controversy.
10.Matt Damon recently admitted he JUST stopped using the f-slur because of his daughter (like girl, you're just stopping now??):
"I made a joke, months ago, and got a treatise from my daughter. She left the table. I said, ‘Come on, that’s a joke! I say it in the movie 'Stuck on You!’ She went to her room and wrote a very long, beautiful treatise on how that word is dangerous. I said, ‘I retire the f-slur!’ I understood," he said in an interview with the Sunday Times.
11.While criticizing Pete Buttigieg's run as mayor of South Bend, conservative pundit Tucker Carlson went on a weird, anti-gay rant about him taking paternity leave:
"This guy, who literally couldn’t fix the potholes in South Bend, Indiana, is now the transportation secretary. But he breastfeeds, so it’s equity! It’s unbelievable."
Pete responded to the rant. "Well, look, in his case, I guess he just doesn’t understand the concept of bottle feeding, let alone the concept of paternity leave.”
