Far too much time has passed since we were collectively under the spell of a brand-new Lorde album, and luckily, the 24-year-old singer is rectifying that issue. News of a brand-new single, titled “Solar Power” and due sometime in 2021, dropped on Monday, along with some truly striking cover art. Below, find all of the thoughts I had about Lorde’s new single’s title and artwork—and yes, there are a lot of them compared to the small amount of information she hath given us:

  1. Let’s get this out of the way: butt.

  2. I’m getting Olivia Rodrigo vibes, camping vibes, walking-around-Los-Angeles-barefoot (but in a cool way) vibes. The most miraculous of vibes!

  3. On second thought, maybe it looks more like Lorde is artfully stepping over cobblestones (potentially while wearing Crocs, the perfect shoe to pair with no pants).

  4. Am I looking at a leotard-style one-piece here? Or a shirt with underwear? Which? Break your silence, Lorde!

  5. Is “Solar Power” a reference to clean energy, or just vibing out on sunshine? Both?

  6. A gay hunch has led me to Google Lorde’s star sign. She’s a Scorpio, meaning “her composed, aloof exterior does not betray the fiery sensitivity of the scorpion.” This album cover may, in fact, be the defining work of Scorpio art.

  7. Despite thinking I had studied this photo carefully, I only just noticed the beach in the background. Guess that puts paid to my cobblestone theory.

  8. I wonder what Lorde’s beach of choice is? Somewhere shady in Maine? Sunny in L.A.? Coastal in her native New Zealand?

  9. Not to be too Carrie Bradshaw about this, but I couldn’t help but wonder: After a year-plus of misery, did Lorde’s album cover represent the purest of fantasies, frolicking by the sea with the wind in our hair?

  10. I like that weird, little coastal jetty thing in the background.

  11. Is Lorde a natural redhead, or is that just a quirk of the light?

  12. Is there any kind of dark-magic trickery I can pull to get “Solar Power” released by my birthday in July? I refuse to officially enter my late 20s without the perfect soundtrack.
