If you, like literally everyone else in the world, fell in love with Nick and Charlie in Heartstopper, you probably felt like, "Hmmm, I actually love this so much and need a million more shows and movies like this IMMEDIATELY!!"

You might already know, but Heartstopper was based on a young adult graphic novel series by Alice Oseman, which raises the question, "How many more amazing queer YA books are out there that would make incredible adaptations?"
Welllllll, lucky for you, I have an answer to that question, and it is, "OMG, THERE ARE SO MANY!!!" So let's take a look, shall we?

1.The Simon Snow Trilogy by Rainbow Rowell
This series HAS IT ALL: gay love, gay magic, gay road trips, gay kissing, gay vampires, gay heartbreak, gay triumph...I COULD KEEP GOING! On its face, the story is gay Harry Potter if Harry (Simon) and Draco (Baz) were roommates and secretly in love with each other and Draco was a vampire. But it's so much more than that! With so many rich and complex characters, the story asks important questions, like, "What happens to the Chosen One after they've fulfilled their destiny?" and "If Simon and Baz don't kiss each other soon, will I spontaneously combust?!" Full of clever twists and the most original take on magic I've ever seen, the world of Simon Snow is ripe for an onscreen adaptation TOMORROW!

Grappling with multiple identities (trans, Black, queer), the painfully lovable Felix confronts hard truths on his quest to fall in love and become his true self. And you just can't help but root for him! Tackling gender identity, cis/white privilege, and the restriction of labels, this would be a drama for the ages! It's giving Oscar, it's giving Emmy, it's giving "I'm already crying just thinking about how moving these performances would be!"
