12-Year-Old Senior Cat Returned to Shelter After Less Than a Month Is Breaking Hearts

It seems like we receive heartbreaking news every single week of another animal getting returned to a shelter. Look, we get it. Adopting is not easy and there are, of course, certain instances that come up that force adopters to surrender their babies. But there are resources to help you, help your animal.

We're sad to report another senior cat was returned to the shelter after less than a month of being at her new home. The reason for the return is heartbreaking. Grab a tissue as you watch this clip from TikTok user @aharrisphoto. Trust us, you'll need it.

Ugh, this poor, sweet 12-year-old senior cat. The people that adopted her said she wasn't using the litterbox and that the fiance became allergic. We understand that can be frustrating but from our own personal experience, animals need time to adjust. Plus, there are ways to get your cat to stop peeing in the house. Or, if the problem persists, reach out to a vet instead of giving up.

"Senior cats are so loving and precious and cuddly," said @priyavir2001. You can say that again! That's why people need to learn patience because adopting, especially an older animal, is one of the most rewarding things in life.

The worst part of this story is that this is the cat's second time getting returned to the shelter. Her first owner was moving and couldn't take her with him. Ugh! If you'd like to adopt Momo and finally bring her home so she can live out her golden years, please go to the Orange County Animal Services website for more information. Let's show this sweet cat there is love left in the world!
