Up To 12 Inches Of Snow Forecasted For Maine Ski Resorts

Maine's snow levels have been dwindling as the season comes to an end. Most areas of Maine stayed well below average for snowfall this season, but things are bouncing back and may again be replenished. Very soon.

Sunday River, ME, just announced to Instagram that the northernmost parts of Maine are predicted to see up to a foot of snow on Saturday. See below.

News Center Maine Meteorologist Jason Nappi has deemed this storm "Old Man Winter's Revenge," and for good reason: Sunday River, for example, is in the part of Maine forecasting 8-12 inches of snow.

This storm is not super cold, and inland areas will start with snow, while the coast will gradually switch over from snow to rain as the low traverses eastward.

The middle section of Maine will see 5-9 inches of snowfall, and the lowermost parts of the state will see 3-6 inches. Areas right on the coast will see up to 3 inches.

Sugarloaf, ME, received 6 inches in the last 12 hours, 11 inches over the last 24 hours, and 30 inches over the last week.

However, officials at the Loaf reported that the high winds are making it so no one is currently enjoying the fresh powder.

In an update posted this afternoon at Sugarloaf, Erica writes that "the winds have only increased since the morning, with no signs of waning until tomorrow late morning. Most lifts are unlikely to open today, though we do have the Mooscalator open for beginners."

Pleasant Mountain started the day with 3-4 inches of powder, and will likely see 8-9 more inches on Saturday, according to the chart prediction.

Black Mountain is likely to see around 8 inches on Saturday, and also got 4 inches last night.

No matter where you set your sights on this weekend, things are looking promising in the great state of Maine.
