Manny Santos From "Degrassi" Was One Of The Most Mistreated Characters, And We Don't Talk About It Enough

So lately, I've been rewatching a lot of my favorite episodes from the legendary series known as Degrassi: The Next Generation, but one thing that's been irking the hell out of me during my rewatch is how people treat Manny SO unfairly shitty!!!

And this bugs me so much because throughout the series, Manny is ALWAYS a fiercely supportive, non-judgmental friend, yet her friends often do not have the same energy for her.

Her loved ones often shamed her, judged her, or hurt her for literally no good reason, and here are some moments to prove it:

1.First off, there was the time when Emma used Manny's new look to get boys to come to the environmental club, but after the boys in the meeting were distracted by Manny, Emma turned on her and said she looked stupid.

2.There was also the very ~ dramatic ~ moment where Emma slut-shamed Manny because she found out Craig had been cheating on his girlfriend with Manny.

3.But the absolute worst thing Emma did to Manny was when Emma judged her decision to get an abortion.

4.So as you can see, Emma was not an ideal best friend😒. Even when Manny tried to help her by encouraging Emma to stop letting Jay use her for sex, Emma responded by taking the cheapest of shots at Manny.

5.The first time Manny's father was introduced on the show was when she was considering breast augmentation surgery, and he had such harsh words for her that even I was afraid of him.

6.Now, Paige and Manny kinda had a frenemies relationship, but it was totally unjustifiable for Paige to kick Manny off the Spirit Squad because of that video circulating of Manny flashing Peter.

7.And on top of that, Emma struck again! She blamed Manny for the video even though Manny was almost blackout drunk when it happened, and Peter, who was sober, took advantage of her by filming her.

8.Being Manny Santos was already ROUGH, and I still can't believe that her dad kicked her out. Especially since he did that because — wait for it — she wanted to be an actor.

9.Anyway, Manny was also a good friend to devout-Christian Darcy, but after that topless video of Manny was sent around school, Darcy looked down on her, especially when Manny was around her boyfriend.

10.Even though Darcy eventually apologized, she was STILL judgmental as hell about Manny's past for no good reason.

11.And the last moment, of course, is another Emma moment. Emma just had to ruin the cheerleading competition Manny worked so hard toward as some passive-aggressive reaction to Manny moving out of Emma's house and back in with her own parents.
