What should you not do with red hair?

If you have red hair, you should not use any shampoos that are labeled "clarifying" or "detoxifying", warns Perry. "These shampoos are often made with harsh surfactants that will strip your color so fast." Instead, both Perry and Hazan recommend opting for formulas that are labeled "hydrating,” “moisturizing,” “sulfate-free,” and “color-safe/color-treated."
