11-Year-Old Hero Has Raised Over $60,000 for Animals Through Lemonade Stands

Delanie Dennis is changing the world one glass of lemonade at a time.

Delanie Dennis isn't your average 11-year-old. This passionate young lady is already changing the way her Tampa, Florida community thinks about animals, and it all happened with one classic idea: a lemonade stand.

The entrepreneur has raised over 61 thousand dollars for different animal rescues and charities since she opened her lemonade stand in 2019--when she was only 7 years old. With the support from her parents and the ambition of a true animal hero, that idea grew into something bigger than she could've imagined.

Delanie's dad, Andy Dennis told Good Morning America, "So we talked to her about it and listened to her plan. And it was like, 'Okay, let's give it a shot.'"

She runs her stand inside her parents' restaurant, where she now even hosts adoption events called 'Squeeze the Day.' Delanie also selects a new, local charity to send the lemonade profits to each month, so animals all over Tampa are feeling the love. Because of this incredible girl, plenty of animals are finding their forever homes, too!

"I believe that somewhere out there, animals have a forever home," Delanie told "Good Morning America." "If you buy a lemonade, you can help the animals." You go, Delanie! We can't think of a more deserving recipient of the ASPCA's 'Child of the Year' title.

Not only is this native Floridian helping animals, though; she's also inspiring those around her to pursue their own passions. Her mother, Julie Dennis told "GMA," "It's been truly inspiring to see someone at such a young age with such a passion for people and animals to make things happen and make a change."

As Delanie said, though, "kids at any age can change the world," and she's all the proof we need to believe that!
