11 of the Longest Celebrity Engagements
Wedding bells are in the air: Quick engagements have been all the rage with celebrities recently, with famous couples such as Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin, or Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson, opting to forgo the traditional dating grace period and, instead, commit completely. (For Grande and Davidson, the engagement came after a few weeks of dating.) But not all A-list couples have been in such a hurry. In fact, couples in Hollywood have a history of getting engaged quickly, but then enjoying a nice long engagement, postponing the actual wedding plans indefinitely or, sometimes tying the knot several years later.
Below, see 11 famous couples who got engaged, then waited a while to say “I do.”
1. Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth
Engaged for: Six years (off and on)

Flash-forward to 2016, and the duo are back together, and once again engaged. No wedding plans have been set as of yet, with Cyrus telling The Sun on Sunday, “I don’t envision marriage. 3. Oprah Winfrey and Stedman Graham

She told Vogue last year, “The only time I brought it up was when I said to Stedman, ‘What would have happened if we had actually gotten married?’ And the answer is: ‘We wouldn’t be together.’ We would not have stayed together, because marriage requires a different way of being in this world. His interpretation of what it means to be a husband and what it would mean for me to be a wife would have been pretty traditional, and I would not have been able to fit into that.”
