'1000-Lb Sisters' Tammy Slaton Claps Back at Comment Suggesting She's 'Gained a Few Pounds'

Tammy Slaton on '1000-Lb Sisters' on TLC

1000-Lb Sisters star Tammy Slaton has made incredible progress in her weight-loss journey over the past few years. Not only did she qualify for bariatric surgery, but she dropped 440 pounds since then. Unfortunately, though, the TLC star was recently left little choice but to clap back at a rude TikTok user who suggested she had "gained a few pounds."

On Saturday, Jan. 27, Slaton posted TikTok videos of herself unboxing gifts from small businesses and promoting the items—some of which were cookies and candy. One follower crossed a line in the comments, writing, “I hope you’re still focusing on losing weight. Looks like you’ve gained a few pounds! Not a hater, just a caring fan😭.”

The 37-year-old responded directly to the commenter in a separate video, insisting, "I haven’t gained any weight. I have not gained any weight. It was the way the camera was angled.”

Meanwhile, another TikTok user commented, "I don’t understand, are these really your supporters? You don’t tempt a person with treats. 🤷‍♀️."

Slaton replied, “I get what you’re saying, but if I’m gonna help small business then I’ll let them send me candy or cookies. It’s up to me to push the candy away and not eat it."

“Please forgive me if I’m coming off as rude or irritated because I kind of am. Y'all don’t have faith in me,” Slaton continued, speaking directly to the camera. “I’ve proven myself numerous times that I can lose weight, that I am losing weight and that I’m still losing weight, but y’all continue to post stuff like this, and it hurts my feelings. Where’s the faith? Where’s the trust?”

Slaton—who in December shared she weighed 285 pounds, down from her highest weight of 725 pounds before bariatric surgery in July 2022—thanked followers for looking after her. However, she pointed out she is the one who must say "no."

“I’m the one that’s got to push it all away," she said. "I know it’s hard to believe, but I seriously do not eat that stuff that much. Not anymore. I don’t even crave sugar that much.”

Regardless if a person has a reality TV show dedicated to their health journey, publicly commenting on their body isn't a good look. Kudos to Slaton for standing her ground!
