'1000-Lb. Sisters' Star Tammy Calls Weight Loss Surgery Approval a 'Miracle'

In an exclusive look at the Feb. 28 episode of '1000-Lb. Sisters,' Tammy Slaton celebrates being approved for weight loss surgery.

Tammy Slaton has come a long way.

In this exclusive look at the Feb. 28 episode of 1000-Lb. Sisters, the TLC star meets with her doctor to discuss her upcoming weight loss surgery.

"As Dr. Smith was going over the approvals," she recounts in a confessional, "I was holding my breath. But he's sitting there and talking, and talking, and talking. Just give me my answer, man."

Thankfully, Tammy receives the answer she was hoping for: She's been approved for the procedure.

As Tammy's brother puts it best, "Welcome to your new life."

Tammy, who found herself weighing over 700 pounds at the start of the season, makes it clear she's eager for the surgery: "Let's get it!"

"Finally, all my work has paid off," Tammy, who entered a weight loss facility to be surgery ready, reflects.

To the camera, Tammy notes, "After all this bulls--t, all the sacrifices. I had to give up a lot. My soadies. My chocolate."

Ultimately, it is all worth it, as she happily declares, "I'm approved!"

Tammy's family is equally pleased, with her brother Chris noting, "This is a 30-year journey, y'all. She's been doing this s--t for 30 years. When he finally tells us that she can have the surgery, that was the sweetest music you coulda hear."

Tammy was rushed to the hospital earlier in the season, having experienced breathing troubles and needing to undergo a tracheotomy.

As the scene concludes, Tammy recalls, "I literally about died eight months ago. And now, today, I'm approved for weight loss surgery."

"This is a f-----g miracle," she says. "I'm a walking miracle."
