'1000-Lb Sisters' Star Finally Standing on Her Own After Massive Weight Loss

Tammy Slaton just hit a major milestone in her weight loss journey.

The 1000-Lb Sisters star notably ditched her walking aid for a series of new photos posted to sister Amy Slaton's Instagram on May 1. In the new images, Tammy—who previously weighed over 700 pounds, needed to be hooked up to an oxygen tank, and used a walker—confidently stood on her own without any support after losing over 300 pounds.

Of course, it didn't take long for fans to applaud Tammy's big moment. One follower wrote, "Tammy standing on her own? Big W."

Another chimed in, "Seeing Tammy stand on her own is so heartwarming. Proud of y’all’s progress."

A third commented, "So happy to see Tammy moving around freely!"

Fans have gotten a front row seat to Tammy's weight loss journey, which has seen significant highs and lows over the last few years. In season four, which aired earlier in 2023, viewers watched as a 717-pound Tammy entered rehab in order to lose enough weight to be approved for bariatric surgery.

Shortly after entering rehab, Tammy faced a health crisis, resulting in a medically-induced coma and a tracheotomy. Despite this set back, Tammy eventually lost enough weight to be approved for the procedure, which she called "a f-----g miracle."

"Finally, all my work has paid off," she said in a scene first shared by Parade. "After all this bulls--t, all the sacrifices. I had to give up a lot. My soadies. My chocolate."
