'1000-Lb. Sisters' Amy Slaton and Husband End Their 4-Year Marriage

The separation comes less than a year after the birth of their second child.

1000-Lb. Sisters star Amy Slaton and husband Michael Halterman are getting a divorce.

Us Weekly obtained court documents that reveal Halterman filed for divorce on March 13 in Kentucky. The news comes less than a year after Slaton and Halterman welcomed their second son, Glenn, in July 2022.

Slaton and Halterman got married in March 2019, and Halterman shared in a YouTube video that the former couple had eloped in June 2017.

In an interview with The Sun from 2022, Slaton said that though she got married to Halterman on the show, they had known each other since childhood.

"We actually met when I was eight so we were dating then, but then when he turned 18, we stopped dating until recently," she explained. "He loves me and supports me. He don't care how much I weigh, how much I lose. He don't care. He just wants me and the babies to be healthy. He's excited about being a dad again, [but] secretly he wanted a girl."

However, last February, a source close to the family revealed to The Sun that Slaton had split from Halterman, moving out of their home with their two sons. Slaton and her children are now living with her sister Tammy, who co-stars with Slaton on 1000-Lb. Sisters.

The source revealed Slaton and Halterman began having marital issues in 2022 shortly after Glenn's birth, because Halterman had been "lazy" with helping Slaton take care of their children and felt jealous over the attention she gave the boys.
