100 'Miracle' Christmas Pop-up Bars Are Coming to the U.S.
There’s no better place to ring in the holiday season than at a Christmas-themed bar.
Miracle, a holiday-themed pop-up bar, will return to many cities around the United States for another year of holiday cheer. According to a company statement, several locations in New York City will be participating this year, as well as over 100 cities across the country.
According to the company, the idea for these holiday bars came from the mother of Greg Boehm, owner of Mace bar, in 2014. Boehm’s mother encouraged him to stall construction of his bar and transform the unfinished space into a winter wonderland for the few weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Since then, Boehm and GM Joann Spiegel have been helping other owners recreate the holiday magic in their own bars.
These bars will serve up plenty of holiday-themed cocktails to bring everyone a little bit of Christmas cheer. Themed cocktails include the Koala-La La La, La La La La, the Snowball Old Fashioned, Run Run Rudolph, and Bad Santa.
In addition to the Miracle bars, Sippin’ Santa (another holiday-themed pop-up that began at The Boilermaker in New York City) is joining the fun by transforming 29 bars across America into Christmas-themed tiki huts in partnership with Tiki expert Jeff “Beachbum” Berry. This special menu of tiki cocktails includes the Kris Kringle Colada, the Christmas Eve Destruction, and the Jingle Bowl (a shareable rum punch).
But these bars aren't just serving festive cocktails, the Sippin’ Santa and Miracle bars will host Ugly Sweater parties on December 2, in hopes of having the largest combined ugly sweater gathering in the world. Each bar will be decked out with lights, garlands, ribbons, and holiday tchotchkes inspired by nostalgic vintage Christmas decorations, as well as a soundtrack of holiday songs. Souvenir holiday mugs will also be on sale, with 10% of all sales donated to Action Against Hunger.
These holiday bars will open from Nov. 25 to Dec. 31 across the country, but you can also attend a “preview” at the Miracle on 9th Street location (The Cabinet, in New York City) from Monday, Nov. 19 through Friday, Nov. 22.
