We might not be wearing jeans as regularly as we used to, but trust us, our hearts still race when we spot a cute new pair. Carrot-leg denim quickly made its way into our wardrobe this spring, and while we’re big fans of this comfy, ’80s-inspired cut, it just made us wonder what other slightly offbeat jeans trends are waiting for us out there. And, which ones are worth investing in now, before they go wide in matter of months?

So, we went to the people who would know all about it: celebrity stylists, who make it their job to stay ahead of the curve to dress A-list clients in outfits we can’t help but envy. They shared their favorite, unexpected denim styles, and we found shoppable items that fit the description.

Whether you're ready to embrace kooky cuffs, or want something that's more traditional with a twist, here are 10 denim trends to try, ASAP.

I love the extreme cuff baggy straight leg or the criss-cross front, but my all-time favorite is the oversized Levis 501 boyfriend. Sizing up so they hang on your hips and cuff the bottoms makes anyone feel sexy.

I love the denim trend with a darker denim stripe down the side of the jeans, as well as bell bottoms and cropped flared jeans from Re/Done.

Bermuda shorts have been all over the runways recently. It’s a style that I’ve been loving for a while, but it hasn’t filtered it’s way down to the high street up until now. It is a little out of people’s comfort zone, because that length was considered such a fashion no-no for a long time. But that’s changing, and it will replace the biker short trend in 2020.

I've never been a fan of skinny jeans. I don't think they're very flattering, to be honest. I love a classic straight-leg or boot-cut jean: they look cool with everything, a sneaker, a mule. That '70s silhouette, but not super-flared. Right now, I've been living in my vintage denim Dickies coveralls and Lee overalls, I don't even have to think about getting dressed, it's just one and done.

I am loving how creative people are getting at home with their jeans. I downloaded TikTok for the first time during quarantine (like many people did) and noticed people getting creative with paint, bleaching effects, tie-dye, and other methods. I love how during this time, people are creating art of their own kind and uplifting some items they already had in their closet. Sustainable and fun!

Regardless of cut and style, I still hold onto the jeans that are less stretch, more structured. I think any woman can look good in a heavy denim, but the shape and cut aren’t usually up for debate. Stick to what looks best on your body and play with colors, washes, and lengths.

I’m a fan of any sort of embroidery or embellishment added to jeans. Pearls, floral prints, fringe and even a graffiti print makes a simple pair of jeans unique. I just bought some denim with tiger print pockets on the booty — I have the perfect shirt for a Tiger King chic lewk. I’m also a fan of baggy, wide-leg denim when styling my clients. The look is a spin on the mom jean, but if styled correctly, it looks effortless and chic. If denim has a retro feel to it, I’m 100% sold. I also refuse to get rid of my ripped up 90’s Levi’s jeans (even if more than half my thigh is exposed) because they are nostalgic and I can easily modernize the look with a cool top and accessories.
