The 2019 Open Championship wrapped up earlier this month in Northern Ireland, thus requiring an update for the PGA's 2019 Money List, which features the highest-earning golfers in the PGA tour. The Money List shows how much money each player earns per year.

Brooks Koepka, who tied for fourth place at this year's Open championship, tops the 2019 Money List, making around $7,806,384 annually. Last year Koepka was number 5 on the list, but that was before he won the 2018 CJ Cup and PGA Championship. Earlier this year, he was named World Number 1 in the Official World Golf Ranking.

Earnings can rise and fall pretty rapidly, too. Just last year, Dustin Johnson was ranked number 1, making more than $8.6 million— but this year he didn't even make the top 10.

So what goes into these earnings? According to Golfweek, "Professional golfers are paid a percentage of the purse for each tournament they play in and finish in the money. For example, the U.S. Open pays down to the 60th place finisher."

In addition, rates can change based on sponsorships, endorsements, and the players' overall success on the greens. As a result, the rankings are constantly changing after each tournament, as well as from year to year.
