10 Times Model and Actor Barbie Ferreira Killed The Style Game

Model and actor Barbie Ferreira, who plays the Kat Hernandez on HBO's Euphoria, constantly and consistently blows us away with her style looks. As Kat, Barbie undergoes a distinct style transformation while exploring her sexuality, and in real life, the creative effortlessly blends together designer, vintage, and basics to create outfits that are easily recreatable for fans. Still, Barbie’s inspiration reaches a lot further than her fits.

Her self-acceptance and honesty about beauty norms are equally something we strive towards, as Barbie has long been an advocate for body positivity. In an interview this week with Out Magazine, Barbie said, "The moment when I reframed what beauty is to me, and what I find attractive, and how I want to present myself to the world, and how that doesn't have to necessarily closely relate to what everyone else is doing — that was really powerful for me." Barbie’s self-acceptance and fashion looks inspire us to likewise be more comfortable with ourselves.

Report Card: A+

The A-line baby doll dress is seriously on-trend. Barbie matched the bubblegum pink dress from Ganni and Susan Alexandra earrings (one of our fave new accessory designers) with leather boots to create an edgier look.

Sustainable + Fashionable = Goals

Barbie’s known to rock a corset or two, we even go as far as to say it’s one of her signature looks. For this fit, she matched a Vivienne Westwood lace corset from 2011 with a unif skirt. We love the mismatching of new and old. The bonus? Since unif doesn’t mass produce their garments, this is a SUSTAINABLE look. Goals. Plus, she's wearing a necklace by our new favorite brand, Alterita.

Best Baby Blue Fit

Barbie Ferreira looked glam in this latex baby blue mini-dress she wore to the MTV Awards, designed by Vex Clothing. The material and corset of the dress was super edgy and punk, but the baby blue color was innocent and sweet, resulting in a perfectly contradictory look. The dainty pearls were the cherry on top of an incredible fit.

Fave Spice Girl? Sporty Spice.

The asymmetrical hemline on this red racer-strip dress by PH5 took the fit from 0 to 100mph. This look introduces a good time to talk about Barbie’s makeup: it’s literally always perfect. This blue eyeshadow in this look completes the 90s throwback vibe. It’s also encouraging us to be more creative about our eyeshadow choices.

Most Recreatable Look

Our favorite thing about this look is that it seems like something we could easily recreate at home. Barbie wears a minty fringed crop top (we’re obsessed with the details!) and high waisted black jeans. It’s a simple outfit that is elevated with the addition of layered necklaces and statement earrings. One of the things we love about Barbie is how relatable her looks are, allowing for maximum style inspiration.

Best Red Carpet Glam

Another thing we love about Barbie? She’s always wearing new and up-and-coming designers. Take, for example, the dress she wore for the Euphoria premiere which was made by LA designer Louiza Babouryan. The navy-blue layers of tulle, which Barbie affectionately referred to as “a fashion fairy poof,” was seriously on-trend. Zoom in to see the eye-makeup look of the century!

Best Skate-Adjacent Look

What else would Barbie wear to the premiere of Skate Kitchen (the 2018 movie about a group of girl skateboarders, starring Jaden Smith) but a skate-inspired look? The crop-polo paired with athletic pants and patent red kicks could just as easily be spotted at the half-pipe as at a movie premiere. We love a star who dresses for the occasion!

Yellow is known to be an optimistic color that can increase focus and happiness. Which makes sense, because yellow is the color of the sun. With all this in mind, it makes sense that this simple blue jean and bright yellow tank brings us so much joy.

Barbie matches the neural shades of her skirt and corset combo with a bright red lip and black platform heels that match her inky locks. This outfit is simple, but like nothing else we’ve seen on the red carpet, sending off major fashion vibes. As always, Barbie proves that the best accessory is a smile :D
