There are over 150 parks run by Milwaukee County, and amidst the biggest and most popular are a few tucked away around the city that have the title of smallest in the county.

Ranging from neighborhood triangles to homes to ice rinks, here are the 10 smallest Milwaukee County Parks.

10.) Valley Park

Coming in at number 10 is Valley Park at 1.5 acres. The park is about two-blocks long along the Menomonee River in the Piggsville neighborhood.

9.) Atkinson Triangle

Located on Atkinson Avenue where it meets Nash and 9th streets, Atkinson Trinagle is only 1.3 acres. But, this Milwaukee County park has a playground and basketball courts. Those basketball courts are even getting restored in 2023 because a group of funders, which includes the Milwaukee Bucks Foundation.

8.) Zeidler Union Square

As you can imagine, public space can be tight downtown. An example is Zeidler Union Square. The one-square block on Michigan Avenue and Vel Phillips Avenue is 1.2 acres. It is also the home of the Wisconsin Worker's Memorial.

7.) Red Arrow Park

A little bit of a surprise considering it has a Starbucks next to it and a mini ice skating/roller blading rink in it depending on the season. Yet, at 1.2 acres, Red Arrow Park comes in at number seven.

6.) Clas Park

That area on the south side of the Milwaukee County Courthouse with the water fountain and the sculpture called the Spirit of Polonia? That's right, it's a park on one acre of real estate.

5.) Morgan Triangle

Next up we have Morgan Triangle. This 0.9-acre park is on Kinnickinnic Avenue and only has a few picnic tables. But it is a nice shady spot in the summer in Bay View.

4.) Prospect Triangle

You've probably driven by Prospect Triangle on the East Side and not realized it. It's the greenspace that makes up that funky, five-way intersection where Maryland Farwell and Greenwich avenues meet behind the Whole Foods. It is 0.6 acres and another nice shady spot with a few benches and a picnic table.

3.) River Front Launching Site

The boat launch tucked away under the Hoan Bridge on Water Street in Walker's Point is actually a park. It has little parking due to its 0.5-acre size, but it is one of four public boat ramps in Milwaukee County.

2.) Gilman Triangle

Another little East Side park. This 0.4-acre site is very small and has no benches or tables. It is where Downer Avenue and Lake Drive meet.

1.) Burns Commons

At 0.3 acres, the little park near Brady Street comes in as the smallest Milwaukee County park. It is not, however, the smallest piece of public land in Milwaukee. That honor goes to Kaszube's Park, which is a city of Milwaukee park. Sitting at 0.15 acres on Jones Island, it is the smallest piece of public land in the county but with a rich history.
