10-Year-Old Chilean Boy Makes A Cardboard Police Car

We see a lot of people complaining about how kids these days want everything served up to them on a platter. While there are iPad kids who think they can sit around all day watching streaming services (and whose fault is that?) there are also some who like wrenching and creating things. Take this 10-year-old from Chile who built his own pedal police car.

Young Alfredo Ossess of Antuco not only gave the cardboard police cruiser a paint job to match the local police, he added a siren, lights, and even a radio to the impressive build. Not bad for a kid!
You can see in the video shared by police on X that the frame is built of out white PVC pipes. Everything looks to be fairly sturdy and the cardboard car moves about as fast as a bicycle.
Also in the video, Alfredo shows his ride off to the police, who then take him for a spin in a real cruiser. The kid looks absolutely overjoyed at the opportunity.
We’re not sure where the pedal mechanism and chassis come from. It’s possible Alfredo cannibalized another old toy, using it to create his police car. Even so, the build is impressive. And this shows that kids still have an interest in cars, working with their hands, and creating things.
So the next time someone wants to rant about how horrible the rising generation is, perhaps they should look in the mirror and see what example they’re setting. We think this kid has some good influences who are pushing him to do better.
