If you're trying to eat fewer carbs, by now you've probably realized that finding low-carb recipes that also look really delicious can be hard. This is especially true of breakfast recipes, many of which are often packed with inherently carby foods like bread and grains (why hello, oatmeal, toast, and pancakes).
We did the heavy lifting for you and dug up 10 low-carb breakfast recipes from around the web. We defined low-carb as having fewer than 25 grams of carbohydrate per serving, but if your goal is to keep your carbs even lower, many of these recipes have under 5 grams of carbs.
Before we get to them, it's important to note that, even if you are trying to eat fewer carbs, there's no reason to eliminate them entirely from your diet. While refined, processed carbs made from white flour aren't exactly the best for you, complex carbs—which are found in things like whole grains, fresh fruit, and veggies—can provide you with long-lasting energy and are essential to a well-rounded diet. In addition, not everyone needs to follow a low-carb diet: There are plenty of different ways to eat a healthy diet, and a lot of it comes down to personal preference.
These recipes ditch refined, processed carbs in favor of more veggie- and fruit-based complex carbs. Plus, they’re all pretty tasty and high in protein, so they’ll satisfy your breakfast cravings and give you the kick start you need to own your day.
