We Found Creative Fall Outfits That *Aren 't* A Basic Sweater and Jeans
"Hearst Magazines and Yahoo may earn commission or revenue on some items through these links."
It'll be time to start brainstorming some cute fall outfits before you know it. If that sentence inspires feelings of dread rather than joy, it might be time to shake up your vibe. Fall fashion tends to have a lot of the same earthy tones and fabrics, but that doesn't mean you can't show love to fresher, funkier pieces for back-to-school season.
Katie Sands, fashion entrepreneur and Amazon Live Style host, explains that she likes to make unexpected styling choices when it starts getting chillier outside. Sands tells us, “It’s obviously all about layering for fall, but with a fun twist, like the punk rock look with some prep flare added to it or a bomber jacket in an oversized fit that gives you the feeling like you just borrowed it from the captain of the football team.”
Sands shares that the fall fashion trends she's been loving are oversized bags, preppy punk, and Kim Possible-style cargo pants. She emphasizes that these are trends anyone can pull off, saying, “Fashion has become less about just accentuating your body and more about just making an art statement — expressing yourself creatively, and not feeling the pressure to make your outfits all about showing a certain body type."
All of those styles and many, many more are about to hit your TikTok feed and your closet, so check out these cute fall outfits for 2023 and trends that'll get you hyped for the colder weather.
