12 Cozy Daybeds That’ll Make Midday Naps a Reality
I love daybeds, and even though I don’t have the space in my tiny New York City apartment for one, I have dreams of someday having one of my own. There’s just something kind of romantic about them — you can curl up and take a catnap, but you can also lounge lazily when you have pals come over.
The Best Daybeds
You can think of a daybed as the child of a bed, sofa, and futon. Usually, daybeds are about the size of a twin-sized bed — the size makes it perfect for a kids’ room, as a place for overnight guests, or just a spot to curl up and read or watch TV.
You’ll also find that they’re typically sold without a cushion, which is something to keep in mind when considering your budget. In some ways it’s nice that they don’t usually come with one so you can choose one that fits your style — there are tufted, patterned, velvet options, and more. You can also get a twin-sized mattress for extra comfort; just put a bottom sheet on it, then tuck in a decorative blanket or quilt to cover up the sheet.
Ready for a nap? Here are some of the best daybeds for all the lounging around.

Greyleigh Edina Upholstered Daybed
Part daybed, part sculptural design accent, this curvy piece from Wayfair brings function and fashionable style to any room in your home, from your office to a sitting room. The curved back offers extra support (great if you don't want to put it right against a wall!) while nailhead trim adds just the right amount of edge.
Williams Twin Daybed
This timeless, mid-century modern daybed from All Modern comes in four gorgeous finishes and bridges the gap between a bed and sofa. Its high, three-sided back will keep you feeling cozy while you sleep and adds dimension to your space during the day.
Doze Off Daybed
While a splurge, this sleek and minimalistic daybed from Sundays has a Wabi-Sabi vibe that makes it the ideal choice for anyone looking to minimize visual clutter in their space. The rich pine and poplar frame pairs perfectly with the included (!!) ecru-colored cushion and pillow – you'll want to skip adding any extra pillows to keep the streamlined look.
Novogratz Her Majesty Upholstered Daybed with Trundle
A true multi-tasker, this upholstered daybed not only works as a nap spot or sofa, but it also has a trundle hidden below it for even more sleeping spots for overnight guests. The soft pink linen fabric offers a feminine and textural touch that would be perfectly home in a preteen's room (or your office).
The Hopper Daybed
Talk about versatility! This go-with-any-style daybed works as a place to curl up, doubles as extra seating when you have guests over, and can be used with or without the cushion (which isn’t included, btw). I’d suggest getting the pillow to make it extra comfy for napping or lounging — especially because it can also be used as a floor pillow if the mood strikes.
Modern Natural Rattan Daybed Frame
I’m clearly a sucker for rattan! This one is polished and sophisticated, making it the ideal choice for someone who wants something with a more modern edge. The panels are especially nice, so you can sit or lounge in comfort, and can double as an extra-deep sofa.
Lulu & Georgia Elvie Chaise
This upholstered daybed is comfy and a little more on the formal and traditional side, which makes it great for a home office (but not too formal for a little midday siesta!). Add a few throw pillows for added texture and color.
Hampshire Spindle Wood Daybed
While this is technically marketed as a kids' daybed, as it fits a twin-sized mattress, I love it for just about anyone of any age! The spindle wood frame is classic and won’t be going out of style. Another upside is the color range — I especially love the olive green and pink, but if you’re more of a neutrals fan, they also have a white or natural wood option. Just add a twin-sized mattress and you’re ready to relax in style!
Sandy Daybed
Want an outdoor daybed that also looks at home inside too? This wooden design looks like it’s from a high-end resort to add a little luxury to your patio or porch. Cuddle up with your partner or pup during the colder months with a throw blanket and fire pit (or bring it inside for extra seating), and hang on it for cocktails with pals in the warmer months for the ultimate year-round outdoor piece.
Merriton Daybed
Speaking of extra storage, this cutie daybed has two spacious drawers with glam-gold hardware for out-of-season clothes, extra blankets, or whatever you need to stash away.
Novogratz Brittany Daybed with Storage Drawers
Add a splash of glamour to your space with this upholstered daybed from Ashley Furniture. The combination of tufted backrest and light wooden legs make a subtle statement without overtaking the room, and built-in storage drawers offer the perfect place to keep extra bedding, pillows, and bath towels.
Delaira Daybed
If your home decor style learns traditional, the Delaria Daybed from Birch Lane is a beautiful addition to your space that will make your guests feel right at home. You can even choose to add an optional pull-out trundle to accomodate an extra guest or drawers for added storage.
