10 Color Trends You'll Want to Wear This Spring

This season’s color palette serves a full spectrum of shades.

Every year, we look forward to refreshing our outfit rotations with spring's trending colors. While the moody shades of fall and winter have their own appeal, there's something special about switching to the sunnier color palette of spring. Thanks to top fashion brands like Miu Miu, Gucci, Versace, and Tom Ford, this year's color trends are deliciously diverse. During Paris, Milan, and New York Fashion Week, designers delivered a full spectrum of trendy shades including near-neons, subtle neutrals, and unique textures that go far beyond the prim and proper pastels that might come to mind when you think of spring fashion.

Poppy

Moody reds reigned supreme for fall. If the SS24 runways are any indication, the shade's popularity shows no sign of winding down. For Spring, we can't get enough of the poppy red, a robust hue that owes its vivacity to orange undertones. This color is a showstopper, making it an ideal choice for essential basics like blazers, jackets, or blouses.

Glacial Blue

We called it. Cool-toned metallics are among this year's top trends. Of all these covetable colors, icy blue has made the biggest impact on the runway. Spotted in the Spring/Summer collections of Versace, Tom Ford, and Bottega Veneta, this chilly color imparts an effortless cool factor into statement pieces and accessories alike.

Chartreuse

Last summer, we noticed celebrities wearing vintage chartreuse, a toned-down take on this electric shade of green. Gucci, PatBo, and Coach all sent chartreuse down the runway in their SS24 collections, amping up the color with fringe, crochet, and embroidered details. Make the most of this trending shade by pairing it with a rich jewel tone. Navy blue, burgundy, or forest green will make any chartreuse piece pop.

Peach Fuzz

When Pantone speaks, fashion listens. Pantone's 2024 color of the year is peach fuzz, a soft and soothing shade that's equally impactful as an accent or the focal point of a monochromatic look.

Haute Chocolate

Rich chocolate brown might seem more suited for winter months than warmer weather, but trust us — and Michael Kors, Hermès, and Saint Laurent — when we say this color is one to watch and wear this spring. Hammered Silver

Even among this year’s trending metallic shades, hammered silver stands out thanks to its unique texture. Not all silver is created equally and 2024’s trending take puts an emphasis on shine. For spring, we recommend looking for sturdy pieces with enough structure to support a molten metallic and multi-dimensional finish.

Green Tea Teal

A close cousin of icy metallics, green tea teal is a cool-toned off-white with a subtle hint of early spring's pale green. While this refreshing color appeared pale and not-quite-white on the Zimmerman, Simone Rocha, and Missoni runways, it steeped a little longer at Fendi, Gucci, and Tom Ford where fashion houses opted for a crisp, more saturated take.

Goldenseal

Sunny and show-stopping, goldenseal gets its power from lots of pigment. Helmut Lang, Ulla Johnson, and Miu Miu all incorporated this ultra-saturated shade in their SS24 collections. We love the impact of this primary color when it appears as a statement separate, but it's equally impactful as part of a pattern or an accent in a color-blocked outfit.

Warm Lavender

Lavender is usually a chilly color, but has warmed up for Spring 2024. This almost rosy hue, seen in the SS24 collections of Issey Miyake, Moschino, and Burberry, is especially well-suited for sheers which give it an ethereal multidimensionality. Not a fan of gauzy silk or chiffon? Try this trending hue in faux or patent leather for a level of subtle shine.

Liquid Gold

We've been dreaming of liquid gold looks since we saw them in the Spring/Summer collections of Ralph Lauren, Christian Siriano, and Coperni. Unlike this season's other trending metallics, liquid gold's draws its glamour from appearing in a constant state of flux. To create a golden look with lots of movement, we recommend reaching for maxi skirts and dresses or long jackets.
