Tell us about your first impressions when you arrived.
Named after Mexico’s southern coastal state where the female owners hail from, the food truck began as a snow cone trailer in 2008 before expanding to a full menu. Parked on a small lot in Austin’s trendy but gritty East Side, just look for the chain link fence containing a few picnic tables and umbrellas, and a long line leading up to the trailer.

What was the crowd like?
You'll find a whole cast of neighborhood characters, from hungover millennials to shop owners to local piñata store clerks. Given that, expect to share a table and make friends with just about anyone.

What should we be drinking?
As the name says, Veracruz All Natural specializes in natural juices, smoothies, and aguas frescas, perfect for canceling out those breakfast tacos (if you say it enough times, it's true, right?). Favorites include the fat burner juice (grapefruit, pear, and pineapple), the mango aguas frescas, and the Mexico lindo smoothie with lime juice, melon, apple, grape, and pineapple.

It’s no secret Austin has a thing for breakfast tacos, and Veracruz has become a staple for a healthy-yet-filling Tex-Mex breakfast—even if you don’t show up until 2 p.m. At only $3.50 each, the migas breakfast tacos are easily worth the trip alone, served with scrambled eggs, avocado, monterey jack cheese, pico de gallo, and topped with crispy tortilla chips for extra texture.
