The Duchess of Sussex, who was everywhere this week, did not borrow the queen’s finery but pulled off a moment of regal loveliness in Gabriela Hearst. Fringed numbers worked wonders for Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in Givenchy and Sylvia Hoeks in Saint Laurent. Sequined columns dominated on the red carpet: Isabelle Huppert (in Armani Privé), Gugu Mbatha-Raw (in Emilia Wickstead). And at the SCAD Savannah Film Festival, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Emily Blunt in Dolce & Gabbana proved that a zip-and-go approach to a big night can be both pretty and powerful.
