'Love Me' Artist Curtis Kulig Shoots: Fashion Week Yaaaaaaaaaayyy

[Editor's note: You might not know Curtis Kulig's name, or even recognize his face, but you've definitely seen his work. The New York City-based artist rose to fame thanks to his ubiquitous Love Me campaign. His signature script has popped up all over the world, from Los Angeles to Istanbul, has led to collaborations with brands like Nike, DKNY, and Vans. In search of a fresh take on New York Fashion Week, we asked Kulig to take his camera backstage at some of the week's biggest shows, and shoot whatever strikes his fancy. Follow him all week for an intimate look behind the scenes.]

I’ve been attending and involved with New York Fashion Week for a while, but as someone who’s spent the past year focused on painting in the studio shooting the runway is not in my forte. What’s really interesting to me is that people who are not involved with shows and the whole production seem to be annoyed with it. Though I don't think they are actually annoyed—I think that they think it's "cool" to act annoyed. Personally, I have always liked the idea of a designer transforming their inspirations into patterns and fabrics, draping a model, creating a collection, adding music to set the mood, and showing the world what they have been up to each season. The rubbing elbows before and after the presentation maybe not so much, but the actual show I'm very into. I am documenting all the shows I want to see this season through my vision here on Yahoo Beauty. I hope you enjoy.
