10 Comics That Show Exactly What It's Like To Parent Today

One great way to welcome newbie parents to the parenting club is to show them, through hilarious comics, just what they can expect. Fowl Language Comics creator Brian Gordon has the perfect book of comics for the occasion, called Fowl Language: Welcome To Parenting.

Although Gordon's comics have a strong online following, he wanted to create something more tangible. "Fowl Language is like a very personal, yet weirdly universal, journal of all the struggles and joys of raising my kids. I just wanted something real I could reminisce with years from now when my kids are older," he told The Huffington Post.

Though the comics capture moments that all families can appreciate, he thought of all the new parents out there when he put together the book. "I wish I had a book like this when I first had kids. There's nothing more isolating than the first year or two," he explained. "Having a funny book to affirm that, yeah, infants ARE a pain in the ass and EVERYONE kinda sucks at being a parent, especially at first, would have been a comfort."

Overall, though, he hopes parents at all stages enjoy his work. "My comics aren't about answers or choosing the 'right way' to raise kids. It's all about how damn hard it is and how no one really has a clue what they're doing," said Gordon.

Check out some of the amazing comics from the book below, and you can find Gordon's new book online and wherever books are sold.
