Meet the 'Luke Arm,' One of the Most Advanced Robotic Prostheses

His bionic “Luke” arm is the first FDA-approved prosthetic that can perform multiple, simultaneous powered movements controlled by electrical signals. Named “Luke” after the Star Wars hero who lost his hand in a light-saber duel, the robotic prosthetic will allow amputees an incredibly wide range of motion — from picking up a coin to operating a power drill.
