What's In My Gym Bag: International Yoga Teacher Kathryn Budig

We’re taking a peek inside our favorite health and fitness experts’ gym bags to uncover their must-have gear and favorite products.

Name: Kathryn Budig, International yoga teacher, author, and food blogger

Where I workout: I practice yoga at home and on YogaGlo.com. I practice Kempo Karate, sparring, and jujitsu at local Charleston studios.

My favorite workout: I’m currently in love with jujitsu. My background in yoga has given me the strength and flexibility to do well in this style of martial arts.

My fitness routine: I practice martial arts at the studio five to six days a week and do home practices for yoga. I either take a full class on YogaGlo or do more restorative practices at night to counter the martial arts workouts.

What’s in my gym bag:

  1. Under Armour duffle bag. I love that it’s stylish and looks just as good with street clothes as my workout gear. It’s the perfect size, with plenty of compartments for my sweaty clothes.

  2. Under Armour sports bra, leggings, training shoes, and mouth guard. Super stylish and feminine while still doing it’s job, these are my current favorite leggings for yoga because of the fun pattern and comfortable fit. The sneakers look like I stepped in rainbow sorbet … love them! The mouth guard is for my sparring sessions. Love that it’s pink … I keep them guessing. :)

  3. My custom Aim True” tank tops which will be restocked on my site in a few weeks. Aim True is my personal mantra: what I teach my students, and also the title of my upcoming book releasing on March 29, 2016. I restock these watercolor printed tanks every few months as they’re in high demand. $5 from each shirt benefits my non-profit Poses for Paws.

  4. Smarty Pants gummy vitamins. Easy, delicious, and clean way to get my daily vitamins in.

  5. Myofascial release balls by Yoga Tune Up. These are an absolute lifesaver when my body is sore.

  6. Peppermint and wintergreen essential oils by doTERRA. I slap these oils on as a natural anti-inflammatory … these oils feel amazing after a tough workout.

  7. Body Dust by Moon Juice. From one of my favorite shops in Venice, California. I pop this powder into my water or smoothies for a natural boost.

  8. Natural deodorant by The Honest Company. This stuff really works! Refreshing after a good sweat as well.

  9. Dr. Alkaitis face toner. I use this to refresh my face after sweating, as well as in my normal beauty routine.

  10. Organic/cruelty-free beauty by RMS Beauty and Vapour Beauty. Easy way to look fresh after not feeling so fresh.

  11. Under Armour hair bands and Power Balance wrist band. Always need to tie my mop back and they double as fun wrist candy

  12. My yellow belt for Kempo Karate. Always ready for class!

  13. Illesteva sunglasses. My new favorite sunglasses so I can feel stylish even if I’m drenched in sweat.

  14. Sparring gloves. Always ready for my sparring class or training with the pads/heavy bag.
