Jamie Eason is the World’s Fittest Model, so she knows a thing or two about living a healthy and fit lifestyle.

I had the opportunity to talk with her about fitness, faith, and perseverance, as well as her thoughts on healthy living. Here are some of her biggest tips for getting the body you want.

Diet

We all know that having the correct diet is pivotal — but what does that mean? Jamie’s two big questions are:

  1. Is the diet you want to take on livable and realistic?

  2. Are you eating to be healthy vs. eating to be lean?

It’s so easy to fall into habits that leave you undernourished. We all have to be careful to not deprive ourselves of the nutrients we need to have healthy, working bodies.

It’s also important to support the lifestyle you live. Everyone is different — if you’re a runner or building muscle or trying to lean out, there are different ways to eat to support each of those goals.

And if you’re just starting to make changes in your diet, Jamie suggests getting rid of chemicals and learning to cook for yourself.

Working Out

Remember that quick fixes aren’t useful for long term success — as they say, “easy come, easy go.”

And don’t be afraid to ask for help. It can be hard to commit to a personal trainer or class, but it’s important to have someone help you achieve your goals.

Accountability

Asking for help means forcing yourself to be held accountable. Here are some questions to ask yourself:

  1. Have you defined your goals or your plan?

  2. Do you have an accountability partner to keep you in line with your workout?

  3. Do you ask loved ones to call you out when they see that you’re not sticking to your goals?

Having help with accountability also helps you to feel less alone in your journey — and that on its own can be a tremendous help.

Remember that everyone experiences failure. We all get too busy and lose time in the gym and find that it’s hard to get back into it. Don’t let these obstacles keep you off track.

Perseverance is key. We just have to keep working for what we want.
