We hear you — it’s summer, it’s hot out, and all you want to do is drink something (anything!) that will help you cool down and provide some much-needed energy. The solution? An ice-cold fruit smoothie, amped up with probiotic-rich kefir.
Kefir, a fermented drink that tastes a little like thinned-out tangy yogurt, contains protein to satisfy hunger and probiotics to keep your gut healthy and your immune system thriving. Other potential perks: Consuming it may help keep your abs flat and your mood up — plus, it makes an easy addition to summer smoothies. Try this mix that celebrity nutritionist Keri Glassman, RD, shared at a recent Yahoo Health event (check out our Instagram for behind-the-scenes pictures). It’s an antioxidant-packed beauty that’s great to sip when the temp spikes.

1 cup Lifeway Kefir, plain
