This Butt-Lifting Workout Will Make Your Muscles Feel on Fire

If you want your glutes to feel on fire, the resistance band booty bridge is a must-do move.

It’s similar to a standard glute bridge, where you lie on your back with your knees bent and hips lifted, targeting your glutes (butt muscles). But adding a resistance band takes this already excellent exercise to a whole new buns-on-fire level of burn. In fact, fitness expert Brett Hoebel, trainer on season 11 of NBC’s The Biggest Loser and author of The 20-Minute Body, says it’s one of his favorite ways to use a resistance band.

“Bands offer a different type of resistance than dumbbells,” Hoebel tells Yahoo Health. Specifically, the band offers more resistance as it’s stretched tighter and tighter.

Moves like the resistance band booty bridge can take advantage of this unique property. “The band adds extra resistance and gets tighter — and therefore harder — at the top of the movement when you are at your strongest,” Hoebel tells Yahoo Health. The best part: All you need to do it is a resistance band with handles, an inexpensive piece of equipment that you can use to work every muscle in your body.
