When it comes to sex — especially in the age of 50 Shades of Greyyou’d be forgiven for assuming people are getting a little…wild in the bedroom (what with the Red Room of Pain and all). Sure, casual sex can be good for you; but how kinky are people really getting?

Apparently, not very. Even though men and women are often stereotyped as having very different perspectives on sex (no-strings-attached vs. all of the feels). But, according to a new study, our sexual desires have a lot more in common than we think. In fact, the most common fantasy description for both men and women is “I like to feel romantic emotions during a sexual relationship,” says a new research from the University of Montreal published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine.

Scientists had 1,516 participants rated 55 sexual fantasies, and—believe it or not—over 88 percent of men fessed up to wanting romance the most during sex (92 percent of women feel the same way). For women, atmosphere and location was the second and third most important aspect of sexual fantasies; for men, the top three was rounded out by fantasies about oral sex and threesomes (typical).

So, guess we’re all pretty vanilla, huh? Maybe we should spend a little more time with Mr. Grey….
