Doctors Save Patient With 20-Pound Tumor

Doctors in New York have removed a 20-pound tumor from a man’s body, saving his life. The patient, Frank Bollettieri, did not even realize he had the tumor until he had an X-ray after a fall. The basketball-sized growth was a type of soft tissue cancer called a liposarcoma, which is extremely rare, especially this size. Lucky for the 76-year-old, doctors at NYU Langone Medical Center were able to remove it (along with a kidney, his spleen and part of his adrenal gland).
