Sean Suiter continues, it was revealed during a press conference held by Baltimore Police Commissioner Kevin Davis on Wednesday evening that Suiter was shot with his own gun and the detective was set to testify in a police corruption case the next day. Suiter was gunned down on Nov. 15 in West Baltimore while conducting a follow-up on a homicide investigation. The 18-year veteran officer sustained a close-contact gunshot wound to the head.
Attorney General Jeff Sessions has ordered a comprehensive review of the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) in the wake of the shooting at a church in Sutherland Spring, Texas, which killed 26 people, including an unborn child police have included in the total. “The recent shooting in Sutherland Springs, Texas revealed that relevant information may not be getting reported to the NICS –- this is alarming and it is unacceptable," Sessions said in a statement. The shooter in that case, Devin Kelley, should have been prevented from purchasing a gun, based on his conviction in a military court.

A Georgia toddler received a successful kidney transplant on Wednesday, about one month after a hospital postponed his original operation when his father -- a perfect donor match -- violated his probation. The Beverly Hills Police Department has 12 open sexual assault cases involving the entertainment industry, the department told ABC News on Wednesday. BHPD previously confirmed that the department was investigating potential crimes allegedly committed by producer Harvey Weinstein and director James Toback, and those would be included in the 12. Weinstein has denied all allegations of non-consensual sex, and Toback said the allegations of sexual misconduct made against him were impossible due to his medical conditions.

New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman released an open letter to Federal Communications Commission Chairman Ajit Pai, accusing the agency of stonewalling his office's investigation into what he called a "massive scheme" to inundate the FCC's public net neutrality review process with fake comments. "The process the FCC has employed to consider potentially sweeping alterations to current net neutrality rules has been corrupted by the fraudulent use of Americans’ identities and the FCC has been unwilling to assist my office in our efforts to investigate this unlawful activity," Schneiderman wrote to Pai, a Republican designated to head the agency by President Donald Trump.

Officials on Wednesday located the two remaining victims of a massive fire that burned down a senior living community last Thursday, claiming the lives of four residents. Authorities discovered the first victim of the Barclays Friends Senior Living Community fire in West Chester, Pennsylvania early Tuesday morning. Recovery efforts continued Wednesday in the south wing where investigators believe the fire started, and that is where the remaining two victims were found, authorities said.
The sports doctor accused of molesting young athletes while working for USA Gymnastics and Michigan State University pleaded guilty today to multiple charges of sexual assault. Wearing an orange jumpsuit and handcuffs, Dr. Larry Nassar appeared in court in Michigan's Ingham County and pleaded guilty to seven counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct involving girls who were 15 years old or younger. The plea deal calls for a minimum prison sentence of 25 years, and the judge could set the minimum as high as 40 years.
An Arkansas couple who once ate at Olive Garden daily for nearly seven weeks plans to name their first child, due in December, Olivia Garton. Justin and Jordan Garton, of Fort Smith, are Arkansas natives who grew up going to Olive Garden. “I’m only the third generation on my dad’s side to be born in America,” said Jordan Garton, 26.
To play the 10-year-old boy with Treacher Collins Syndrome who is the heart and soul of the film, Tremblay, 11, had to endure two hours of makeup each day of filming. The film, based on R.J. Palacio's 2012 novel, chronicles the struggles of a young boy with the rare disease, known in medical terminology as mandibulofacial dysostosis, that causes abnormalities of the head and face. "They had a neck piece, a face piece connected to a mechanism to make my eyes droop, contact lenses, dentures and a wig," Tremblay told ABC News.
