Yahoo Food on the Road: A Food Lover’s Guide to Backpacking Europe

A post-graduation European backpacking odyssey is a rite of passage for many wanderlusting youths. I, myself, had long planned for my own opportunity to flee the country and experience places I’d never been, but had always wanted to. On my own recent trek, I met teens and 20-somethings from all over — London to Latvia, Chile to China — paving their own paths across the continent.

However, unlike many who see a trip like this as a chance to get Euro-trashed every night — not that I didn’t have my choice moments — I had a different kind of focus: food. Working at a food website and being a self-proclaimed gastronomic adventurer (mostly because I kind of hate the label of “foodie”), I couldn’t wait to eat my way through four countries and try as much as possible. And, of course, Instagram it all in the process.
