The Way This Steak Was Cooked Will Make Your Jaw Drop

Hint: You won't find the equipment in your kitchen.

A great food hack is hard to come by. Sure some work, but often they require inconvenient contraptions-seriously, who has time to peel an apple with a power drill? Others are just totally fake, because you can not actually blow dry a banana back to life. But from time to time, something truly ingenious rises to the top of the internet: This time it's a steak made with a hotel iron.

This trick comes to us by way of The Brothers Green-the hilarious YouTube duo that recently rocked the Delish test kitchen with pretzel-style pigs in a blanket and fried mozzarella burger buns. Although they're currently on the road for work, we had a chance to chat with Josh (one half of the duo) about the inspiration behind this unorthodox cooking method.

According to Josh, when you're traveling you "feel like you can't cook because you're in a hotel." But after spotting a steak at a local market, he thought, "Why can't I make that?" And with just an iron and a tea kettle (for the noodles), they did just that. You can check out the full method below.

This isn't the duo's first foray into iron territory, but up until this point they've stuck with, "simple things, like grilled cheese." Josh explained that the trick worked so well, they used the iron again the following night, along with the hotel trash can and some tinfoil, to make a full on Korean barbecue dinner.

The two are currently developing a new travel series which Josh describes as, "vlogging with a purpose," or "Vlife-that's virtual life." Along with the iron hack, it will also feature all sorts of tips to eating on the road, like amping up your meals with free goods from the hotel breakfast section, packing a big batch of homemade granola for a trip, and everything else in between.
