Watch Scotch Experts Review Cheap Whiskey

“Breakfast is the most important drink of the day,” says Rick Edwards, an opinionated scotch expert. And it should be delicious, even if inexpensive.

Edwards joined fellow scotch expert Kat Aagesen to evaluate the best of the cheapest whiskeys on the market in this BuzzFeed video above.

Looking for flavor, aroma and “that first impression,” Edwards and Aagesen review and describe varieties of Wild Turkey, Jim Beam, Jack Daniels and other brands of booze. They found some surprisingly good, like Evan Williams Bourbon, and others revolting.

“That nail polish remover, acetone characteristic,” is what Edwards found in Wild Turkey 101. Jim Beam was deemed “tolerable,” said Aagesen.

Neither Aagesen nor Edwards could barely swallow the Fireball Cinnamon Whiskey. “It’s like they took a handful of Red Hots and a mouthful of Big Red and took grain whisky and threw it down the hatch,” Edwards said.

“There’s so many beautiful expressions available to drink,” argued Aagesen. “This is no way to live.”
