Be Your Own 'Top Chef': TV Show Partners with Blue Apron Delivery Service

Top Chef is going to Boston, and the winning food is going to…your house?

Season 12 of the Bravo reality series debuts October 15 at 10pm ET/PT. Immediately after the premiere, you can find the episode’s winning recipe online at www.blueapron.com/topchef. You then can go one step further, signing up for Blue Apron's ”dinner kit delivery service, and the recipe’s ingredients will arrive on your doorstep the week of October 27.

No, it won’t be the cheftestants delivering the goods—they’re pretty busy, cooking and stuff. And it won’t be judges Tom Colicchio, Gail Simmons, or Padma Lakshmi. But it will be delicious. The home-cooked meal-in-a-box business has boomed over the past couple years, and contenders such as Quinciple and Plated have made splashes in the market. But Blue Apron, which serves up over 800,000 meals per month is among the best. The subscription service mails you a batch of ingredients—enough for three meals serving two, four, or six people—once a week. So if you sign up for the Top Chef box, you’ll get the premiere’s winning recipe plus two additional meals of your choosing, totaling about $30 per person.

Maybe you’ll get something as awesome as Harold Dieterle’s Steamed Thai Pink Snapper with Brussels Sprout Leaves and Chanterelle Mushrooms from Season 1, or Angelo Sosa’s Homemade Ramen with Sweet Glazed Pork Belly and Watermelon from Season 8. Both of those dishes won them the first episodes of their seasons, and the game’s only gotten more competitive since then. We’ll be watching next Wednesday to find out what this season’s first episode winner will bring.

Unpack your knives and go!
