Watermelon-Tequila Punch

After scooping out the watermelon, the empty shell becomes the punch bowl. Be sure to make this in summer when watermelon is in season and at the peak of sweetest.

6 to 8 servings
1 small ripe seedless watermelon
2 tablespoons sugar
½ cup silver tequila made from 100% agave
1/3 cup fresh lime juice, plus lime slices for garnish

Using large sharp knife, cut off top ¼ of watermelon. Cut small slice off rind (not flesh) of opposite end of watermelon so it stands up. Scoop out watermelon flesh; reserve watermelon “bowl.” Puree watermelon in batches in blender. Mix in sugar and refrigerate just until cold. Pour puree, tequila and lime juice into watermelon. Float lime slices on top. Serve in glasses over ice or with straws!
