The Absolute Coolest Dessert to Have This Summer and We're Not Exaggerating

Confession: I stole this idea from my grandma*. Before the Internet, before Pinterest and before, well, yeah, before Martha Stewart, my grandma was scooping out grapefruits and oranges and filling them with all sorts of frozen situations. Orange sherbet. Lemon sorbet. Vanilla ice cream. Sometimes she’d dot the top with grapes, freeze the whole shebang (frozen grapes, as an aside, are amazing) and serve it to us as our “treat” on sleepovers.

Fast forward many (many) years later, and it occurred to me that my grandma is pretty smart and that these are the ultimate party trick. Not only are they 100% customizable (you can fill them with literally anything you like), but they are fast to make, keep forever, and require basically no preparation. If you’ve got a freezer and a knife, you’re ready to go.

So go forth, make Grandma Prue proud and throw yourself a sorbet-in-grapefruit-cup party.

*I’m all for original content, but when you’re planning an imaginary 60′s themed pool party, there’s really only one dessert that seems appropriate (FYI, I did ask for her permission first).
