Thanksgiving Poutine: An American-Canadian Mashup

For those unfamiliar with poutine, it’s the oozy snack beloved by our friends in Canada. Traditionally, it’s a simple combo of cheese curds, French fries, and gravy, but leave it up to Canadian-inflected deli Mile End in New York City to give the dish an American makeover. Behold: Thanksgiving poutine!
It may sound like an oxymoron, but the melty American-Canadian mashup will hit the Mile End menu next week, replete with rosemary-and-thyme challah stuffing, smoked turkey, cheese curds, chicken gravy, and fingerling potatoes. We spied the dish on the Instagram account of Eli and Max Sussman, brothers and executive chefs at Mile End and Manhattan’s The Cleveland, respectively.
