Irish Whiskey For Everyone!

Contrary to popular belief, Irish whiskey isn’t good only in shots, Pickle Backs or the tragically named Car Bomb: It also makes a damn fine cocktail.

The typically smooth and incredibly drinkable whiskey is one of the most popular spirits on planet Earth right now. And what better occasion than St. Patrick’s Day to mix a drink with it?

Time to start shaking one of our favorite Irish whiskey cocktails.

Irish Coffee

The best holidays start early. So wake up the right way with an Irish Coffee. Our recipe, from Liquor.com advisory board member and bartending legend Dale DeGroff, is the best version we’ve ever tasted. It calls for super-popular Jameson Irish Whiskey, brown sugar syrup for rich sweetness, coffee and freshly whipped cream. You’ll never look at Irish whiskey—or coffee—the same way.

Irish Jack Rose

The Jack Rose is traditionally made with applejack, but we’re big fans of this Irish whiskey variation that also calls for brandy, lime juice and grenadine. It could become your year-round drink.

The Kilbeggan Secret Sour

This refreshing cocktail from top bartender Joaquín Simó was inspired by the classic Whiskey Sour. This version is a bit more complicated, mixing Kilbeggan Irish Whiskey, vermouth, lemon and grapefruit juices, club soda and orange bitters. The result is an elegant, citrusy drink perfect for afternoon happy hour.
