A fairytale come true! A life-size gingerbread house was spotted in the South Bank of London recently in promotion for a new attraction, Shrek’s Adventure! London. Lucky passers-by got to take bites of the 12-foot house’s gingerbread walls, giant macaron chimney, and oversized jelly beans.

It was created by Tattooed Bakers, also known as Eddie Lebeau and Richard Amon. The London-based duo specialize in realistic bespoke edible art. “It’s actually based on Shrek and Fiona’s Honeymoon Cottage from Shrek 2,” Lebeau told Yahoo Food. The edible home was commissioned by Merlin Entertainments as a promotion to sell tickets “Shrek’s Adventure,” which bills itself as a “walk and ride misadventure” opening on London’s South Bank this summer.

It wasn’t easy creating edible, pop-up ticket booth in the middle of London’s famous South Bank. It took over three weeks to build the house. “Putting the house together on site was probably the hardest part,” says Lebeau. “The roof was made in four separate panels that weighed around [209 pounds] each.” It took seven hours to construct the house.

And, apparently, it was a hit. The house was devoured to the point where they had to dismantle it after only a few hours. “It was getting completely torn apart by hungry passers-by. Free cake and sweets brings and makes people crazy!” Lebeau said.
