Hey, There's Fruit on Your Head
Esquire said it well: Laura Miller is “a woman who really loves fruit.”
But Laura Miller said, “It’s just me being a weirdo.”
And a lovable weirdo, at that. Miller, who used to sell raw vegan desserts at the Underground Market in San Francisco, California under the tagline “raw, vegan, not gross,” was “killing myself. I wasn’t charging enough, I wasn’t making any money—I’m a terrible businesswoman.”
But people in San Francisco loved her idea—“everyone’s had enough of gross raw food”—and she was picked up to do a video series by Tastemade. With the leftover produce scraps, she had a bit of fun on Instagram, turning chives into wigs and plums into necklaces.
Miller told us she’s working on a cookbook, so there will be more delicious raw vegan food to see from her in the near future. But we hope she never stops being a weirdo. Click to see what we mean.
