Surprise dad this Father’s Day with a dessert that shows how well you know him. This treat combines all the things he loves most in this world — a cake disguised as a big juicy burger! This belongs to none other than Lyndsay Sung of Coco Cake Land who baked this adorable rainbow cat earlier in our series. Now she brings us a burger cake that can be easily made with just a few simple tools.

To mimic each ingredient simply use different shaped pipping tips. (Photo: Coco Cake Land/Lyndsay Sung)

Sung starts by baking two flavors of cake, a vanilla that she splits into two halves for the buns and chocolate for the meat patty. She takes a big batch of buttercream and dyes them separately: green for lettuce, red for ketchup, and yellow for mustard. She’s then able to mimic each ingredient by using different shaped piping tips. Just like a burger, she starts to assemble starting with a vanilla cake bun that she slathers in “mayo” then on top the chocolate meat patty and then the works. “Lettuce,” “mustard,” and “ketchup,” stack into a tower of ingredients that get sandwiched with the other half of the vanilla bun. She scatters white sprinkles on top like sesame seeds that just makes you want to sink your teeth in. Finish it off with a shake and fries flag and you’ve got a sweet burger Dad will not be able to resist.
