A Protein-Packed Strawberry Basil Smoothie

Studies have confirmed that women who start their day with protein feel more relaxed throughout the day and eat less overall. This strawberry basil #beWELLsmoothie helps you start the day right, supports the immune system, balances blood sugar, and increases insulin sensitivity. At BeWELL, we monitor the fruit in our smoothies to limit fructose (¼ to ½ a cup depending on goals/lifestyle). The BWS also feeds your microbiome with fibrous chia seeds and ensures you get your daily dose of vitamins and minerals. I love the fresh flavor of strawberry and basil—just don’t expect this one to look crimson red.

Ingredients:

¼ cup frozen strawberries

1 cup fresh spinach

1 cup basil leaves

2 tbsp. chia

1 serving Vanilla Protein Powder

2 cups unsweetened almond milk

Directions:

Blend all ingredients in a high-speed blender. Add ice and blend to cool. (Tip: You don’t need a high-speed blender if you blend the ingredients together first and then add ice at the end.)
