A Homemade Salsa Recipe That’s Perfect for Game Day

Nicole Bernard Dawes knows salsa. The founder and CEO of Late July Snacks produces healthy flavors of tortilla chips that are all organic and free of GMOs. Flavors like nacho chipotle, jalapeño lime, and bacon habanero are delicious enough to be devoured on their own. But if you want to kick your chips up a notch, Dawes has a salsa recipe she uses in her own home that can be paired with her good-for-you tortilla chips.

Nicole’s Organic Homemade Salsa Recipe

3 to 4 medium-large heirloom tomatoes, chopped to ¼-inch pieces
½ medium onion, diced
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 small bunch of cilantro, chopped
1 jalapeño, seeded and chopped
1 to 2 limes, juiced
Salt to taste
Optional ingredients: Mango, avocado, tomatillos, sweet corn, black beans

Prepare the tomatoes, onion, garlic, cilantro and jalapeño. Mix all ingredients in a large bowl and stir well. Juice the limes and add salt to taste. Consider adding other optional ingredients or prepare a second version using mango as a base. Can prepare up to an hour ahead.
